Emergency Training at AW

Last week we were sent off for some emergency training, here's how we got on.

I am now abe to help someone who has fallen over, I can flip them right side up and help if they need to sick and do CPR (so long as there is a device).

I had an impossible time trying to decide what music to put behind this one, there were just to many good fire related songs to pick from.

  1. Ha looks like you all had a fun day!

Although I'm disappointed there's no video footage of you giving Kylie the kiss of life... ;-)

  2. Soundtrack sounds like a series on BBC... has been ages since I've seen it though. Catchy tune :)

Given a choice i'd recommend picking Kylie for CPR, Yvette needs to practice (arms) while not being distracted, heh.

Did you get to walk around in smoke filed rooms as well? Heimlich ain't that hard once you realize how it works. (practicing on a dummy is harder 'cos it has less weight)

Actually *using* a fire-extinguisher is very useful to do once. Normally you don't try that 'cos it's kind of a one-time-use device and thus expensive.

On the subject of company safety ('company emergency assistance' is what BHV more or less stands for); have you practiced how to get out of the AW building/floor to groundlevel without using the main elevator? Doing stuff once helps to know when it's needed.

Here's to hoping you'll never need to apply the stuff you learned!

  4. Less of the old show Frans thats the old theme tune to casulty a show which I can proudly say I am still sad enough to watch every week - in fact I may go watch it now.

We yes have got out practise aw exit plan down and will not doubt spend the next two weeks running up and down all those flights of stairs just in case!

John I was disapointed not to be giving the kiss of life al over the show to - apparently its something you dont actually need to do when giving cpr the heart rate is the most important!

  5. Something tells me you will be keeping a closer eye on the cooker when making meals from now on. I stick to the microwave myself though they're not entirely foolproof!

Training videos are usually boring as hell, but, you seem to have found another possible sideline for yourself there.

    Have a good week xxx
