Catch up

Hi,

Stepping out of the shower I sit down and start to rub cream into my skin. Cream and rubbing leads to the usual conclusion and I take the time to treat myself to a post shower play.

- Click  here to see the video in full at abbywinters.

While I have been away from you I have been recording a few bits and bobs so may as well stick them bellow, this is what I have been up to since I last wrote.

Training to be a camera woman for abbywinters has been coming along well but has been difficult at times.

I shot my first ever full solo video last week and was very proud of myself (helped that the model was amazing ) so feel I am starting to concour things.

Poppy is well although a bit thrown by the two new arrivals in the house.

A few weeks ago, it snowed!

  1. Glad to hear you're not dead Masie :) (yes I/we care, duh;-) Would you say a regular job is more tiring then your previous on/off job schedule? You must have had some tiring days on your previous jobs as well, esp. when traveling back from London way late in the night!

Poppy is cute playing with that ball. Watch when she encounters that log in the way, all confused on that :)

Those people in the parked walked funny, can't they bend their knees or something? Looked odd. Good to see you having fun in the snow. Somewhat amazed you manage to film while riding your bike without falling over. That's a Good Thing though, keep it that way.

  3. Nice "Catch Up" blog... great to catch your news and see poppy all settled in even if she is unsure about her new room mates, and looks a little nervous about mummies bike riding also :)
How many different Dog coats does poppy own?? One for every occasion.

Talking about the anglo/Australian house.. has Kylie & Marcus converted you to Vegemite yet?? Can they even get it in A'dam?? Which reminds me... what foods are you missing from home?? Is the dog food any different??

Anyway.... thanks for the updates always great to read and watch no matter what the subject (well so far).

  4. Good to see you back blogging again. Don't worry about boring stuff, if it happens, post it. I'm lucky if I update my FB status once a year, I just spend my time commenting on other people's statuses.

You're healthy, happy and working, what more could we ask!?

Keep having fun and keep smiling, sometimes, even just a smile is all it takes. xxxx

  5. Lovely to hear from you all again, you have each brought a smile to my face.

So lots of questions to get through.

Firstly Frans about full time work v full time modeling. Theres not much in it really when it comes to being shattered.

Full time work is a killer as its every week wth house work etc on the weekends meaning you never quite have time to re set- not sure if you notice what with my accidental close up blog but my bags have never looked bigger.

When I was a full time model there were cetrainly weeks that near killed me when I was running on 4 hours sleep a night and driving up and down the country. But I always knew there was a whole week in bed athme doing nothing waiting for me and that made it all doable.

Riding on the bike with dog and camera is getting easier now although I still have to hold on when other people ride past me (thats what is happening whe camera goes sideways).

The people walking funny were practising for a walking race - i'm no expert on rules but i think your not allowed to let feet off the floor in a certain way hense weird knees - all i know is its funny and makes me smile, i try and catch them at it every few sundays.

Poppy does tend to look bit put out in the basket but has shown through putting in many a dead stop at difficult moments followed by a jump up at my leg that the lazy moo prefers it to running on her own feet. The weekend before last I cycled with her to Vondal park so she could have a run around.

Poppy isnt wearing a coat in that video she has he blanket tucked wrapped around tucked into her coller as she was shivering - she has her christmas coat and a sensible one but thats still in England

Veggie mite is vile. I have tried it and it just wasnt marmite, it tasted sort of just lame with a nasty after taste. You guys can keep it thanks.

I miss having wide range of breakfast cerial (its coco pops cornflakes o sad looking museli in the shops here n thats it, i'd love some rice crispes) I of course miss twiglets, I miss jelly how they do it at home in cubes, gravey granuels and proper supemarktes where you can not only get all the food you want but also cheap clothing and hosue hold bits.

  6. I think the lack of food choice probably stems from pot being legal. You'll doubtless eat anything when you get the munchies!

Is the cost of living cheaper out there? Might be worth totting up the weekly shop and comparing it to Tesco online. I bet there must be advantages of living out there or you wouldn't still be there.

And what would you blog about then!? xxx

  7. The lack of food choice is a problem of my own making really. In Holland you have to go to specific shops for specific items which is very sweet and probably makes a fair bit of economic sense for small traders. Im just used to doing everything in one place and am not prepared to change my ways now i am aborad (how english)

I dont want you to think im one of those terrible people who moves to a different country and then goes on about how much better how was etc - nothing worse, I used to share a house with someone who did that all the time, if south korea was so great surely she would have just gone back!

Only mentioned the food I was missing as I was asked On the whole I am doing well at fiding lots of things I like and judgin by the selection of cakes etc they are just alot healthier than we are which will be a good thing in the long run.

I love Amsterdam especially the bit I live in with all the space and parks. The cost of living is very expensive but I was in a very poor area in Leeds when in the Uk so the comparrison probably isnt fair. I do spend a stuid mount of my wages on rent every month though.

  8. I guess what keeps you going is that you're doing a job you love and can get better at. You also get the chance to diversify. It wouldn't be so good if you were stuck doing the same thing every day, week and month.

Once you get into a lifestyle you enjoy, you tend to want to keep it up no matter what the cost. When I lost my job, it
took me several months to break out of the lifestyle I'd become used to. By the time I did I'd spent every penny of the wages I'd saved! Not good!

I guess you should be thankful that you're not stuck over here on the dole!

  9. Masie, check it out: http://www.britishstore.nl/index.html should have all you need, and yes it's near HQ :)

The proper supermarket you describe sounds a bit like Aldi , a discount store so prolly not near HQ that much (much cheaper than AH though;-). Aldi pretty much sells anything they can get cheap in bulk and thus resell at low prices, incl. clothing adn such. Mostly food/drink however.

  10. I like the post shower play and the fact that you took the time to film it. I think I'll soon get to film myself, and I hope I'll look as good as you do in your videos
